The evolution of music video

 This is the infographic I made about the evolution of music videos over time. I included some of the most significant events that have contributed to the way music videos are made and 

enjoyed today.

A music video that resonates with me is ' Summertime ' by British girl group, FLO. The Video follows the three girls (Stella, Jorja and Renèe) on a holiday trip to Greece. The video is made in vlog-style, which is actually my favourite Style of music video, because they are so simple and yet remain entertaining. The video includes shots recorded on a phone, making them appear realistic and relatable. It includes many short clips crammed in together, showing a short glimpse of each moment, connoting the exciting and fast-paced nature of the holiday. Most of the video shows the girls in the same frame and in close proximity, connoting their close relationship as a girl group, and creating a theme of girlhood. This also makes the video appeal to the target audience of teen girls and young women, especially those in the 'aspirers' category, since many of them most likely anticipate their eatly twenties to be exciting and eventful like the video shows.

 

Big issue cover task

To create this cover I drew inspiration from previous editions of the big issue, and used the common conventions of the magazine. I used value transferance by featuring Billie Eilish, a siger songwriter who is also known for advocating for climate change and charity, and who recently donated 11 million dollars worth of the proceeds from her world tour to charity, and called out billionaire for their selfishness.
